a fragment of you

i am a fragment of you
a piece of tomorrow
who buys lipstick
to feel pretty

cracked nail polish
on bitten nails
a church bell rings

the smell of paint
fills me inside out
reminding me
of broken dreams

that fragment of me
remembers yesterday
it imagined a time
when it was whole

the truth hides at
the end of plastic
weaves and wigs

no one hears
their fragment
it speaks in whispers
telling lies that reach
the end of rainbows

  1. And if we put all the fragments together would they make a whole? Then what would the story be? Or would they just deny each other’s existence? Puzzle pieces searching for a solution. So many points to ponder. Amazing imagery. Cool poem.
