I’ve been so busy working on my MFA in Creative Writing at Goddard College that I didn’t realize how much I was neglecting past short stories and novels I’d left unfinished. I’ve decided to revisit about twenty short stories and eight novels. All of them have been lying around waiting for me to breathe life back into them. I even found a full length novel I dearly loved but haven’t fiddled with in a long while. I still have the cover I had designed for it.

It’s amazing what one can discover when they look into the past. The idea for this story is dear to me and I believe it is time I revisit it and give it a bit of love and attention. I’m sure it will look very different to me now and most likely require a heck of a lot of rewriting. But I’m up for the challenge. The idea should not be left to die. Those who were some of my first readers loved it and to this day not only remember the story, but remember the main character’s name!

For the remainder of this week I’ll continue to sift through the rubble of my writings and see what else I can dig up. There are many diamonds in the rough to be found. It’s time to polish them so they can eventually be read.
