My sister, daughter and friend had a roaring good time a few weeks ago. We all decided to take a trip into the living room and do something different. So, we jumped double dutch. I have on the black sleeveless top, tryin’ to act like I ain’t 41 years old. Lawdy!
Well, needless to say it had been years since I’d jumped and wasn’t sure if I’d be any good at it. But I held my own during a few jumps and kept up with the youngins. Doing things (safe and harmless things) relegated to the youth can be awakening.
It reignited the joy of life in me, and the simple things that made the days of the past fun. No one made money, or gained fame. They just jumped rope and tried to be the best they could be at it. Most important of all, it was fun…unadulterated fun.
My hope is that others will join me in the rope. If not the physical rope of double dutch, the rope of life that allows us to be youthful, simple and joyful. Jump with me…you’ll want to play again and again.

aren’t we the same children we were? it’s just the age (number) & attitude that keeps us from enjoying carefree fun
