This year was too chilly here in the Poconos to take a walk on the beach. But last year I enjoyed feeling the water rush between my toes, and the sand gather around my feet. I had on a long skirt that I had to hike up so it wouldn’t get wet. But it would have been all the same to me.
The water was mountain air cool, even at the height of summer. Not the water I’m used to, which is more like my island home, Jamaica. The waters there are clear and not as cool as the mountain waters.
It was a nice walk on the beach. I hope I can do it again soon. Maybe next year, or maybe on my next trip to Florida. We’ll see. The year is not yet over.
For the human mind cannot climb to the top without steps; for every step upward he needs the foundation of the past, and this in the comprehensive sense in which it can be revealed only in general culture. All thinking is based only in small part on Woman’s own knowledge, and mostly on the experience of the time that has preceded. A. H.
Beautiful Feet at the shore, looking out to sea wondering about the past, present and future of our world. Woman your steps have and will always leave indelible footprints on our collective mind of how much more beautiful our planet can be. Keep on Stepping.
