I’ve been thinking about my purpose as a writer. I’m sure others have thought their purpose was merely to write. But to write what? Â I feel that what I write is even more critical a venture than simply putting out anything for the sake of writing.
I feel a responsibility to readers to write something that is not only exemplary of my personality, my ideals and thoughts, but speaks to them and some of the very same things they think about. I want to write in a way that will honor my spirit. I want to honor everything the universe is. So I am cognizant of what I write, and how I write it.
My writing purpose is to share what I’ve learned in a way that allows readers to receive information that is not riddled with propaganda and self aggrandisement.  My purpose is to tell a damned good story and let that story be my voice. My purpose is to shed light on those things folks are afraid to discuss.
Above all, my purpose is to be the best writer I can be, so my work can be trusted and remembered. I hope, at the core, this is the goal of all writers who wish to master their craft.
