I had some berries earlier today, so this post really spoke to me. It's amazing how beautiful fruit is. The smell, sweetness and texture. I love all kinds of berries. There is something luxurious about them as well. Not only are they my sexy food, there is something really amazing about eating something that comes from the Earth.

Thank you!

I've been dubbed the "Metaphor Queen" by one of my readers, and I appreciate that. Everything in this world is symbolic, and by using stories and analogies, we can shed light on the world and our existences.

It's easy to see through the lies once you've woken up. Upon realizing the deceptions that pervade society at large, you can never look at the world the same way. Once you see it, you can't UNsee it, unless you are swallowing a VERY BIG BLUE PILL. You'd really have to be trying to go back to your ignorance.

I live in Chicago, but a simple 45-minute drive to the suburbs is illustrated by open plains and untouched land. I've traveled the world.

Africa is overpopulated? How about when I took a 13-hour bus ride from Zambia's capital city of Lusaka, to the township village of Lundazi where my mother was born and raised? We drove hours through mountains and open land. Africa is overpopulated? Everyone's running around diseased and dying in droves and starving and killing one another? These things are true, but are not the bigger picture.

The overpopulation narrative is akin to the, "Hurricane Irene is BIGGER THAN EUROPE! It'S GOING TO WASH AWAY THE ENTIRE CITY OF NEW YORK!" Narrative. Home Depot can sell a 12-pack of water for $23, when people can fill their own containers at home.

But but but, I am an American Citizen! I was born here! The land beneath your feet. Is the land you walk on part of a corporation? At the moment of your birth, do "laws" created by colonizing Europeans dictate that which YOU ARE? Who ARE you, then? Your identity is a nine-digit number? WHO ARE YOU?

Once you see it, you can't UNSEE it. Once you know who you are and take measures to live as the powerful being you are, you cannot go back. We all came here purposely, with a mission, to gain some understanding about this earthly realm. We took a fall from perfection, choosing amnesia, in the hopes that at some point, we would wake up and realize the game we are in.

I'm with you on wanting to see this "Empire" collapse. It's built upon nothing, not even sand, and as we can see today, is not lasting. I cannot wait. Burn, baby, burn. Then perhaps, society can rise like the phoenix, as you mentioned, and realize WHO we are, as soveran kings and queens.

Namaste.

Excellent. I never thought much about the notion of overpopulation, but after readiing this I look at it just as that. I believe this boils down to the all mighty dollar, in addition to other things. As always thank you for giving me something to really think about.

@Minnie E Miller, If I am a robber and all I have spent my existence doing is robbing people, do you really think that if someone sent me a complaint I would look at it? ROFL. Please. Robbers don't give two hells about who they are stealing from, or they wouldn't be stealing from them.

I want this entire nation to fall like the Roman Empire fell. I don't give two hecks about it or those who "claim" to be running it and "claim" to want to hear my voice. It's all smoke and mirrors, and anyone who believes otherwise is living in a fantasy world.

What these creatures do is, every now and then, put on a bandaid or give a few people a pacifier, make it LOOK like they are doing something to shut up those writing letters. Then, they create new laws to offset what they pretended to give to the complainers, or wait until the complainers are DEAD and gone, then they re-instill what they wanted in the first place. I've read enough history to know that things HAVE in fact changed, but the are NOT different. And there has been nothing I've seen in the current times that is different from 50 years ago, 100 years ago, 1,000 years ago. They change the faces and names of what they are doing and keep the game going. And we buy it, thinking they are actually listening to us, rather than patting us on the head and saying, "Here little girl, have an ice cream, but no roller skates for you."

I hope the government dies like all other corrupt governments in history. As it stands, they are doing a pretty fine job of making this happen. I just hope I live to see it die as it should so that a REAL society can rise from the ashes, like a Phoenix. Something that does not require the enslavement of mankind and the subjugation of peoples.

The only thing that has changed is now everyone is being enslaved for the greater agenda. The word slave has now been changed to the word "employee". I am sure millions of people have been writing letters for hundreds of years, yet, the same corrupt culture persists. And it is not because not enough people are writing letters, it is because those in charge are robbers, they only allow robbers such as themselves in the highest levels where real decisions are made, and those letters, well, you get a form letter saying that someone got your letter, while they warm themselves by a fire with the letter you sent that they probably didn't even read. Or, had some intern read who has NO CLUE what any of this stuff means.

Like the next person, I want to be heard, Minnie. But I am smart enough to know that it won't happen unless we come together and change things physically, not with little notes being passed around as though change is in a letter and not in an action. WE are the change we need to see in the world. And looking to some politician to change what is OUR duty to change is not only naive, but downright lazy.

I will be the one making the changes I want to see. To hell with politicians, senators, mayors, judges, presidents, vice presidents, and all those at the very top who are there only to give lip service and collect a check, all from my hard earned tax dollars.

And how does this conversation play into over-population again lady? LOL.

I get your point. We are at this level of thinking now about the politics of the nation. We complain about the "Tea Partiers" and the "do-nothing Congress," but do nothing about it. Don't write me and tell me how much you agree with my thinking, and that they are greedy and thoughtless. Put your complaints in writing and send them to the offenders if you agree with me. If not, write me and tell me where you think I've gone wrong. If you are silent I must assume you are okay with the politics of our nation, which you are a part of, like it or not.

Zaji, this is wonderfully written. I couldn't have expressed this better. How true is it that it's all about the love of writing, to even make the most frustrated writer continue on. Even when we're in our most vulnerable and insecure state when it comes to our writing, in the end we realize that perhaps this "writing things" is bigger than us.

Thanks for writing this, and I hope you don't mind but I may share this on my blog (linking back to your site).

I enjoyed this post!

When I was a much younger writer, I used to talk incessantly about what I was writing. One day I was excitedly relaying a plot I was hatching to an engineer friend of mine. During a pause in my story he said: “see you have that…”

I said, “have what?”

He said, “Your stories and writing.”

Up until that point, I never thought that writing was anything more than what others have, but over the years I see that writing is something to be treasured. I think it was Charles Bukowski who said, most everyone can write, but not everyone is a writer.

As always you and the sisters at EW make me think about things many others rather would not. My Soul. What is it? Beautifully written. I myself am still pondering on this one.

You are also so right. I wonder who am I to call someone else crazy? Are they really crazy because we think differently? Point well taken.

Many of your thoughts on creation and the Creator echo mine. I believe part of being mature in our thoughts is to be open to people of various belief systems instead of trying to convert them to ours or secretly belittling something we know very little about. Working at the museum has introduced me to many people from all over the world. Thus I've been able to find out more regarding Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism from folks who come from countries where these are the dominant religions. Also I've come to discover more similarities among most faiths than there are differences. God has just shown himself differently to the various cultures worldwide. Any belief system that promotes peace, joy & unity has a place in this wonderful world.

When it comes to writing fiction, the best advice I can give is to close your eyes and write the scene that's in your head. Don't think about it. Just write the scenes playing in your head for your characters and you can't go wrong. Don't worry about the editing at the writing stage. Just write.

At the age of 12 I read this,"Intelligence, is it a bane or a blessing?" Ever since, when confounded by anything, I THINK with all this intellect I've been blessed with and my mind returns to what I read at 12. Peace
